Our learning environment has transformed into a butterfly conservatory. This term, the ELK team purposefully planned to teach life cycles and the differences and similarities between the natural and human made environment. These were included in our long range plans and our month web of intentions. What the ELK team did not do, was plan how we would invite the students to learn such expectations. That was up to them!
As the weather became warmer, the students began to draw and ask about butterflies- this was where we jumped in! We have ordered from Green Acres as well as Science Borealis and both have proved to be a success. Here are some photographs documenting our learning journey along the way.
