The Power & Roles of Collaboration: Formula 1 Pit lane Exploration Race tracks are always one of our favourite classroom creations. This time however, something different emerged. Our students were interested in creating more details along their tracks, as a fan ( as my husband is an F1 expert and first introduced me to the concept of atelier in the world of fine cards and craftsmanship- aside from fashion atelier) I was eager to introduce them to the power of collaboration which takes place in the pit lanes before and during the races. The garages are their atelier "workshops" and every player has an important role- just like we do! Here is a look into their amazing work and the level of details these kinders put forward. I could not resist, sharing the different racing circuits with them around the world from Montreal, Dubai to Monaco!
Toronto's Evergreen Brickworks Outdoor Education Experience The Toronto Evergreen Brickworks and YRDSB teamed up to host a series of outdoor learning opportunities for educators. This experience took place around their property and in my absolute favourite space- the children's garden. We explored nature walks, arts and crafts, making program connections and most importantly- how to teach our learners to connect and learn from our land. The facilitators were wonderful and very inspirational. From giving us our very own nature names (I was a Chickadee) to allowing us to tinker with willow and create our own structures and creations with found loose parts. the experience was enjoyed by all ages and could easily be made to any age group. I am very excited to get back into the classroom and begin creating our loose parts kits for outdoor explorations and perhaps even a ... dare i say it... mud kitchen!
