Just Let Me Play
A Fancy surprise for fdk! VALENCIENNE, the finest bespoke gown designer to play and learn with our fdk class this fall
Involving friends, family and welcoming professionals in the community foster inclusivity and involvement from the people the children know best. In our class, I am honoured to have one of my favourite creative people visit my classroom this year.
With my best practice in mind, I know my students love to create, wonder, and build. With pleasure, bridal fashion designer Kim Ironmonger of Valencienne is excited to visit our classroom to co-create some beautiful pieces of art using beads, fabrics, ribbons, and crystals. We are excited to create a space where our materials and tools present opportunities for students to pursue critical thinking and concepts. I am excited to see the approach and interest which will guide our learning for this inquiry opportunity!
This summer, use fabrics of all sorts of shapes and sizes and encourage children to use their creative imagination. Last year, one of my former students loved fashion and wanted to be a fashion designer. She used fabrics to create gowns, beads to create bespoke jewellery, and artisan materials to create stunning painted canvases. Sparkle is a virtue. Always shine!
I love what I do and I love using my knowledge and passion for creativity and decorative art. I am an active member within the Wedding Industry and enjoy interior and event design. I had the pleasure to learn and become part of the collaborative fashion design process with Valencienne. This summer, see my wedding featured in Elegant Wedding Magazine.
